Abstract
1331324 Pipe couplings BURNETT & ROLFE Ltd 10 April 1972 [13 April 1971 17 Dec 1974] 9243/71 and 58761/71 Heading F2G In a closure for a keg 30, 0 ring 20, which normally seats on shoulder 24 in the closed position of the member 18 (Fig. 1, not shown) is moved downwardly, by a filling or dispensing spigot 32, so as to provide a seal between the flow path for gas passing through the gap 41 and the liquid flow path through ducts 38. The valve parts are assembled by passing the 0-ring 20 through the valve seat 14. In another form, the end of the spear is closed, and on assembly the resilient ring is formed between the valve seat and the lip at the closed end of the spear. While filling an inverted keg, the liquid entering through gap 41 is deflected outwardly, by flange 44, to prevent it from foaming. The spear assembly 1, 7 is of welded stainless steel construction.
