Abstract

1330957 Beaming WILSON & LONGBOTTOM Ltd 19 April 1972 [21 April 1971] 10414/ 71 Heading D1M Each beam 13 on a beaming creel has a brake 14 controlled by transverse movement of a roller 29, over which the ends 34 pass, to provide a predetermined tension in the ends. The brake 14 may be a fluid operated disc brake and the roller 29 is pivoted so that its movement operates a diaphragm in a unit 54 to control the braking pressure. The unit 54 may be. such as to provide for beaming with a progressively decreasing tension or a revolution counter may be associated with each beam to vary the setting of the unit 54 to provide varying yarn tension at different stages of beaming.
