Abstract

1,208,777. Warping yarns, tension control. LEESONA Ltd. 16 April, 1968 [13 April, 1967], No. 16947/67. Heading DIM. The yarns let off from a single or a number of beams 10 have their tension maintained constant by a device which adjusts the positions of weights 20 acting on the individual beam brakes. One beam 10 has a peg 13 which acts on a star wheel 30 as the beam rotates. The star wheel rotates a reduction gear 28 and thus an infinitely variable gear 29 to rotate a crank wheel 23, 26 whose rod 22 moves a rod 21 to adjust the positions of weights 20 acting on the band brakes 15. The initial braking load can be set by adjusting the relative positions of the wheels 23, 26. The wheels 23, 26 may be replaced by a solenoid operated ratchet wheel.
