Abstract

1,233,740. Warp let-off motions; knitting machines. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 6 Sept, 1968 [17 Oct., 1967], No. 42657/68. Headings D1C and DIE..[Also in Division F2] To maintain constant warp tension a pivoted back rest operates a hydraulic or pneumatic disc brake geared to a warp beam &c. A lever 30 is adjustably loaded by a spring 35 to act on the back rest (not shown) and tension the warp. The spring surrounds a rod 32 which is pivoted on a bell crank lever 40 having a spring loaded rod 41 and a lever 47 acting on a brake master cylinder 48 which operates a disc brake 52 controlling the let-off by wayof gears 64, 22. In use the initial warp tension is set by adjusting the spring 35 and the brake pressure by adjusting the spring 43 surrounding the rod 41. The linkage is then such-that as warp tension increases brake pressure is relieved and vice-versa.
