Abstract

1328783 Heat treating aluminium bronze LANGLEY ALLOYS Ltd 29 Oct 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 49007/69 Heading C7A An alloy containing in percentage by weight and having a Fox inclusion count of not more than 50 is hot worked to a reduction in area of at least 30%. It is then heat treated at a temperature within 2% of that given in ‹C by the expression 1990-100A, where A is the aluminium content of the alloy, quenched in oil or water to below 600‹C and then hot worked at 35 to 50‹C below the temperature given by the above expression. Should reheating be necessary for further working both operations are carried out at temperatures at least 10‹C below that of the second hot working operation.
