Abstract

1323951 Cartons ALF COOKE Ltd 26 June 1972 [8 April 1971] 9111/71 Heading B8P A cardboard carton blank comprising a base 6, side walls 3, end walls 4, and corner panels 5 has a trapezoidal flap A with an extension AX in each end wall and a complementary shaped flap B formed by cuts 9 in the base. The carton is erected by folding the walls 3 at right angles to the base and folding flap A outwardly and downwardly through 90 degrees to the position shown in Fig. 2 causing the panels 5 to swing round to the carton end and the flap B to swing up towards the vertical. Flap A is then folded through 90 degrees again to occupy the shaded area B<SP>1</SP> and the extension AX is forced up to lie on the inside of the base and lock the carton in its erected condition. Both ends are folded identically and the carton may be shrink wrapped.
