Abstract

1322783 Tufting machines SINGER CO (UK) Ltd 9 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 40560/70 Heading DIG A tufting machine has a jerker bar 11 which moves with the needle bar 12 and a stationary yarn guide bar 116 adjustably mounted on the machine framework. The supporting brackets 18 of the bar 16 are adjustably mounted on a carrier bar 19, and the carrier bar is mounted on parallel swinging arms 23 by bolts 26 passing through diagonal cam slots 27 in a plate 28. As the plate is moved longitudinally by a fine adjustment means 31, the bolt 26 moves up the cam slot 27 thus raising the carrier bar 19 and the guide bar 16. The fine adjustment means 31 comprises a threaded rod 32 captive in a thrust block 33 which is attached to the machine framework. As the rod 32 is rotated it moves nut 34 which is attached to the plate 28.
