Abstract

1277084 Mine roof supports GULLICK DOBSON Ltd 24 April 1970 [25 April 1969] 21183/69 Heading E1P A sprag plate device, attached to the roof bar 10 of a mine roof support, is advanced to support the mineral face by means of a piston and cylinder 14, 17 housed within a casing 11 the sprag plate being hinged at its lower end to the casing whereas springs 25 attach the upper part to the casing. On retraction of the ram, the upper part of the plate engages an end portion 28 of the roof bar thus tilting the lower part of the plate to allow passage of e.g. a mincing machine.
