Abstract

1450069 Knitting machines SINGER CO 17 Dec 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 58366/73 Heading D1C A circular knitting machine comprises a plurality of L-shaped cam section blocks 62 to 72 having parallel side, front and rear and top and bottom surfaces and arranged in a circular array on a plate 73 with adjacent side surfaces as 100, 102 diverging outwardly, each block having camming 126 to 136 for one feed only and being secured to plate 73 by a fastener 122 and by a portion at its lower front end mating in a notch in the plate, the camming being carried by one or more elongate members 144, 146 slidably mounted for vertical displacement in the block and guided by a key 149 and slot 150 and by a removable side plate 142. The members 144, 146 are adjustable as a unit by a bolt 158 acting against a spring 152 and relative to each other by a screw 164. Each member carries a stitch cam 168, 176 and a raise cam 166, 174 and the members guide the butts of respective sets of needles. The camming may alternatively provide one, or more than two, tracks.
