Abstract

1322426 Lever jacks AISIN SEIKI KK 5 July 1971 [3 July 1970 (3)] 31360/71 Heading B8J A jack has a load-engaging head 8 on a cantilever lifting arm 7 pivoted at one end on a nut 17 threaded on a drive screw 15 carried by rollers 19 in guide rails 1. A link member 29, 30 is pivoted at one end at the central portion 31 of the arm 7, while its other end may be selectively engaged in one or other of a pair of notches 13, 14 the latter of which gives an initial lift to the head 8 without operating the drive screw 15. The notches 13, 14 are provided in flanges 12 on a base member 3 and a guide 35 ensures that the link member 29, 30 engages one or other of the pairs of notches 13, 14. The rails 1 are pivoted at 4 to the base member 3 to allow the head 8 to follow the movement of the load without the jack sliding along the ground.
