Abstract

1,227,715. Lever jacks. AISIN SEIKI K.K. 16 Jan., 1970 [17 Jan, 1969], No. 2149/70. Heading B8J. A jack, Fig. 2, has a load-engaging head 14 on a cantilever lifting arm 12 pivoted at one end on a nut 24 threaded on a drive screw shaft 20 and carried by rollers 30, 32 in a housing 10. A link member 40 is pivotally mounted at one end at the central portion of the arm 12 and its other end may be selectively engaged in one of a number of notches 18 in a base 16 to give an initial lift to the arm 12 without operating the drive shaft 20. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 5 the screw shaft is driven from its end remote from the base 16<SP>1</SP> and the housing 10<SP>1</SP> is pivoted to the base 16<SP>1</SP> at 54 to allow the load engaging head 14<SP>1</SP> to follow the movement of the load without the jack sliding along the ground.
