Abstract

1327994 Vehicle jacks METALLIFACTURE Ltd 19 June 1972 [16 July 1971] 33410/71 Heading B8J A vehicle jack comprises a base 1 of channel section in which extends a screw 2 having two screw portions 3, 4 of opposite hand. A nut 9 is threadably mounted on each portion 3, 4 and each nut 9 is pivotally connected respectively, to a lifting arm 10, 11 of channel section. The two arms 10, 11 are pivotally connected to a lifting bracket 12 by bolts 13, 14 which have a metallic insert 16. The ends of the arms 10, 11 have interengaging teeth 15. The arm 10 is slightly longer than the arm 11 so that, on rotation of the screw 2 the side of the vehicle (not shown) to be raised follows an arc of radius substantially equal to the axial distance between the wheels.
