Abstract

1320516 Laying fabric CUTTERS MACHINE CO Inc 4 Sept 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 8019/ 73 Divided out of 1320515 Heading D1S The fabric laying machine described is identical to that disclosed in Specification 1320515 1320517 and 1320518, but the claims relate to means for overfeeding the fabric supply to momentarily accelerate this supply to the laying unit when a reversing switch is actuated by the laying unit at one of the longitudinally spaced reversing stations. The overfeed means 150 comprises a roller (20), Fig. 1 (not shown), supported on a shaft 152 and over which the fabric is trained as it passes to the laying unit. A pinion 151 is coupled to the shaft 152 by an overriding clutch (not shown) and engages a rack 153. At each reversing station, upon actuation of an overfeed switch, a solenoid 154 thrusts the rack 153 upwardly to feed the roll (20) at a higher rate than normal to prevent undue tension on the fabric as the laying unit reverses.
