Abstract

1320517 Laying fabric CUTTERS MACHINE CO Inc 4 Sept 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 8020/73 Divided out of 1320515 Heading D1S The fabric laying machine described is identical to that disclosed in Specifications 1320515, 1320516 and 1320518, but the claims relate to a remote control handle 85 operatively connected by a flexible electrical cable 86 to motor drive means for reciprocating a frame 11 carrying a fabric laying unit 21 over a laying surface 14. When the handle 85 is suspended in a bracket 87 on the frame 11, a plunger switch 84 is maintained depressed by a lug 88 so as to close an electric circuit to energize the drive means for the frame 11. The position of the lug 88 is adjustable to sequently the speed of the drive means. The electric circuit includes a variable potentiometer (72), Fig. 4 (not shown), located within the alter the position of the switch 84 and conhandle 85 and which is operatively connected to the switch 84 so that variations in the depression of the switch create corresponding variable speeds in the drive means. An electrical brake 45 for automatically stopping the movement of the frame 11 upon actuation of a switch at a reversing station at each end of the fabric lay to reverse the frame 11 is provided. The brake 45 may be de-energized by manual depression of a switch (146), Fig. 4 (not shown), in the handle 85.
