1320278 Metal vapour discharge lamps MATSUSHITA ELECTRONICS CORP 6 Dec 1971 [9 Dec 1970] 56569/71 Heading H1D Numerical conditions are specified between the lamp wattage, the envelope diameter, the inter-electrode spacing, and the average potential gradient between the electrodes, of a high pressure metal vapour discharge lamp with a polycrystalline alumina envelope, and having a filling of a metal-e.g. sodium-together with mercury or cadmium and a rare gas. The specified conditions are stated to provide good colour rendition, high luminous efficiency, adequate life, and to permit the use of an inexpensive ballast e.g. a single choke.
