Abstract

Valve-gear.-Cam-gear for a four-stroke-cycle engine comprises a crossed groove forming a double loop around the periphery of a cam A, B, which has a concentric boss B, a flattened portion P, and a bulged portion Q. The cam follower F is curved to fit the flattest portion of the cam, and the tappet-rod E moves in guides G, H, one of which is slotted and the other rounded to facilitate the lateral movement of the follower in passing from one part A of the cam to the other part B.
