Cams and tappets.-The tappet rods 12, 13 for the inlet and exhaust valves of an internal-combustion engine are shaped as shown at 21, 23, Figs. 2 and 3, so as to shorten the period of cpening of the inlet valve and to lengthen that of the exhaust valve.
