146,040. Dickinson, R. H. Dec. 2, 1919. Valve -gear.-The exhaust valve b and the airinlet valve, d are worked from cam-grooves m<2> in the crank-disks m. Tappet,-rods p have rollers p<1> working in the cam-grooves and are guided at p<2>. The tappets are adjustable and may be connected to the valve stems b<1>, d<1> by spring coils p<3> so as to close the valves mechanically. Springs b<2>, d<3> may be fitted instead of, or in addition to, the positive connexions.
