Abstract

1317079 Cathode-ray tubes MATSUSHITA ELECTRONICS CORP 29 Dec 1971 [29 Dec 1970] 60334/71 Heading H1D [Also in Division H4] In a monoscope for generating a video signal by scanning the electron beam over a selected character in a stencil electrode: 5, Fig. 5, a signal from the stencil electrode forms one input to a differential amplifier 10 the other input of which is the sum of the signals derived from a collector plate 6 and a secondary-electron collector electrode 11. The electrodes 5 and 6 should have a high secondary emission ratio and the potential sources shown should satisfy the condition V sc >V s >V pc >0. The signals at points A and C are then in phase, and in anti-phase to that at point B (Fig. 6, not shown) so that the signals may be combined as illustrated to increase the output signal. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the electrode 11 is omitted, secondary electrons being collected by the anode 4 which is connected to earth through a load resistance from which an output signal is taken.
