Abstract

1313881 Discharge valve assembly RAION YUSHI K K 16 April 1970 [18 April 1969 (3)] 18227/70 Heading F1R A discharge valve assembly comprises a valve stem 3, a nozzle portion 6 mounted thereon and having a nozzle portion 64 therein, a first valve for flow communication between the interior of a pressurized container on which the valve is mounted and an axial passage 31 in the valve stem, via a valve member 4 which is deformed away from valve seat 37 on the valve stem, a second valve for flow communication between the axial passage 31 and atmosphere, both valves being normally biased towards their closed positions, the biasing force on the first valve being stronger than that on the second valve. Fig. 2 shows the nozzle portion axially movable against a spring 8 to align groove 36 with nozzle 64 so allowing flow discharge through the second valve from passage 31 through grooves 65, 63, 35 to nozzle 64. In a second embodiment Fig.3 (not shown) push button (105), included in the nozzle portion 3, is movable relative thereto on spring (108) to communicate conduit 152 and nozzle (162), Fig. 5 shows an assembly where nozzle/portion 206 tilts on the valve stem to communicate conduit 39a and nozzle 262; a return spring 208 closes the valve on removal of the tilting pressure. A fourth embodiment Fig.8 (not shown) allows the nozzle portion to be spring mounted on the valve stem such that an enclosed space exists between the top of the valve stem and the nozzle portion; the volume of this space increases on valve closure to reduce the pressure of any fluid entrapped.
