Abstract

1275155 Self cleaning valve L'OREAL 3 Sept 1969 [3 July 1969] 43728/69 Addition to 1226712 Heading F1R A valve in accordance with the parent Specification 1226712 is arranged to be self cleaning. As shown, the discharge pipe 33 is open at the bottom end and has an internal partition and apertures 16 and 35. The pipe is slidable relative to seal 30 and has a shoulder 15 engagable therewith. The arrangement is such that the initial movement of the pipe causes flow of pressure fluid from hole 35, round shoulder 15, then from hole 16 out of pipe 33, Fig. 2, thereby cleaning the valve. Conversely pressure fluid may be introduced through the valve into a container on which the valve is mounted when the valve is in this position. On further depression of the pipe 33, the shoulder 15, engages and moves sealing member 30 to open recesses 5 and 6 and close hole 35, causing the plurality of substances in receptacles 21 and 22, connected at 3 and 4, to be dispensed. In one embodiment, Fig. 4, grooves 37 and 38 connect the pressure scource to the cup shaped seal 36a. If an overpressure occurs, it is released by deformation of the seal outwards from the pipe 33.
