Tyres, elastic, special apparatus for making.-In an apparatus for shaping tyre covers, the cover A is positioned centrally upon a pulley 6 by an adjustable gauge 12 mounted upon the pulley shaft. The pulley 6 is mounted upon the shaft by the engagement with a V-shaped groove 7 thereon of the pointed ends 4 of rods 3 adjustably mounted in a sleeve adjustably secured upon the said shaft. Positioned upon the pulley 6, by U-shaped rings 10 engaging flanges 11 thereon, is an inner tube 8 which is adapted to be inflated and stretch the cover A. During the inflation the rings 10 are removed. When the tube 8 is almost fully inflated, clamping pieces 17, with curved walls 17' and tapered base portions 17<111>, are applied, as shown in Fig. 5, and secured in position by the rings 11. The tube 8 is then fully distended, causing the pieces 17 to give the desired shape to the beaded portion of the tyre.
