Abstract

148,077. Hopkinson, E. Oct. 3, 1919. Vulcanizing tyres.-A tyre cover A, Figs. 1 and 3, during vulcanization, is mounted on a ring 1 shaped at 2, 3, and 4 to give the final shape of the beading required and preferably extended at 7. The cover is preferably enclosed between annular mould sections 5, 5 held together by clamping-pieces 6 and supplied with fluid under pressure through the pipe 17. The part 7 is preferably bevelled at 8 to enable the edges of the tyre cover to be readily pushed into place by rings 9, Figs. 1 and 5, formed in sections connected together by slotted fish-plates 12, bolts 11, and springs 10 as shown.
