Abstract

215,857. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., Paull, W. H., and Fellowes, F. Feb. 21, 1923. Moulding wheel tyres.-Pneumatic tyre covers are formed by building up superimposed plies of rubbered textile material into an approximately flat band, shaping by expanding by a metal curling ring 3 and vulcanizing by internal fluid pressure with the ring therein. The tyre beads are supported during vulcanization externally by clip rings 6 and internally by flanges 7a on a bull ring 7, the clip rings being retained by mould rings 4 held together by dumb-bell bolts 4a. Pressure fluid is admitted through a valve 7<c>.
