Abstract

1311091 Releasing articles from endless conveyers BARBER ELECTRICAL SERVICES Ltd 31 March 1970 [2 Jan 1969] 237/69 Heading B8A [Also in Division G4] In a coin-freed vending machine articles 9, particularly packets, are suspended from gripper devices 3 which are attached to integral links 4, of an endless chain 1, and may be released by a tooth of a sprocket wheel 2 engaging a cranked rod 10 and pivoting a gripping member 5. The packet may also be released by a fixed cam acting on the rod 10 of each device as it reaches a delivery position. In the embodiment shown the gripper device has one pivoting gripping member, preferably with serrated face 7, and a fixed stop 8. In other embodiments (Figs. 2 to 5, not shown) a star wheel (14) or slidable serrated stop (20) is mounted on a fixed plate 8, the serrated face 7 is replaced by a rubber gripping insert (15) or two pivoted members (17) with eccentrically mounted serrated wheels (16) are provided.
