Resistances.-A high resistance, for use especially in wireless systems on aircraft, consists of a thread of partially carbonized cellulose or the like embedded in insulated material such as paraffin wax. The carbonized thread 1 is connected by paste joints 5 to metal leads 4 and enclosed in a fibre or ebonite tube; after filling the tube with molten wax, metal caps 3 are soldered to the lead.
