Abstract
426,032. Bontgen - ray apparatus. MULLER AKT.-GES., C. H. F., 24, Rontgenstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. July 9, 1934, No. 20110. Convention date, July 21, 1933. [Class 98 (i)] [See also Group XL] Rontgen-ray tubes with an inner vacuum-tight vessel consisting at least partly of glass are closely embraced by an outer vessel of solid insulating material so thick that it cannot be pierced by electric sparks at the working voltage, air spaces between the vessels being avoided, for example, by a cement filling. The outer vessel may comprise cup-shaped insulators 6, 7 slipped over and cemented to the glass ends 5 of the inner vessel. Additional insulators 9, 10 are secured to the members 6, 7 and carry attaching means for the current supply cables. A metal sheath 16 surrounds the members 5 and is electrically connected tc similar sheaths 11, 12 on the insulators 9, 10. The insulators 6, 7, 9, 10 may be formed of artificial resin such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark "Philite," or of ceramic material.
