Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a potted heater from being subjected to damages such as cut- out, crack, deformation, etc. by laying a heater coil in the internal space of a conical coil made of a high melting point metallic wire using sintered powder aggregate and fit-inserting the conical coil in a cathode sleeve. CONSTITUTION:An alumina coated heater coil 1 is inserted in a conical coil 4 around which a molybdenum wire is tightly wound. 900-mesh alumina powder 2 is filled up in the space using the 1% aluminum nitrate aqueous solution as binder and sintered in the hydrogen atmosphere at 1,650 deg.C for five minutes. It is degassed in vacuum by electric heating and fit-inserted in a cathode sleeve 3. This can prevent a potted heater from being subjected to damages, such as cut-out, crack, deformation, etc. when an indirectly heated cathode is fit-inserted in its sleeve since its circumference consists of the metallic conical coil.
