371,216. Insulators. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl- Ufer, Berlin.) June 27, 1931, No. 18634. Convention date, June 28, 1930. [Class 36.] In a bushing insulator comprising a lead-in bolt 3 surrounded by one or more tubes 2 of insulating material such as porcelain, a filling 4 of hard rubber is cast in between the conductor and the inner tube. In a modified construction, a thin-walled conductive tube may be disposed between the rubber filling and the lead-in bolt. Preferably the conductive parts, i.e. the bolt 3 or the tube are vulcanized in position with the rubber.
