Abstract

914,299. Electrostatic precipitators. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. Aug. 3, 1961 [Aug. 24, 1960], No. 28301/61. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XXXVI] In an electrostatic precipitator an insulator sleeve for a discharge electrode or high-tension lead-in 2 comprises a tubular body 1 of a material, such as steatite, of higher flexural resistance than quartz or porcelain, one end of the body being rigidly bolted to the precipitator wall 4 with the interposition of seals 3, and the other end of the body being rigidly bolted at 15, and sealed at 3, to a cover plate 16 to which the electrode or lead-in 2 is rigidly connected by plates 17. The body 1 may be shaped as in Fig. 5 and depend within the precipitator to save space. Specification 508,769 is referred to.
