Abstract
1308729 Telescopic crane booms GROVE MFG CO 1 Nov 1971 [17 Nov 1970] 50760/71 Heading B8B Telescoping boom sections 18, 19, Figs. 6, 4, are welded up from flat plates with wear pads 22, 23 positioned above and below side webs 20<SP>1</SP> of inner section 19. The upper pads 22 are loosely positioned on the inner section 19 by retainers 24, (25), Fig. 7 (not shown), while the lower pads 23 are loosely positioned in notches 26 in the outer section 18 and retained by a strap 27 including vertical arms 28. In the modification shown in Fig. 8 the upper wear pads 22 are positioned by L-shaped retainers 32 which stiffen top web 21<SP>1</SP>. Side wear plates 31 are welded to the retainers 32.
