Abstract

1305879 Titanium/zirconium alloy INSTITUT DR ING REINHARD STRAUMANN AG 13 July 1971 [13 July 1970] 32812/71 Heading C7A An alloy which contains in weight per cent 25- 75% zirconium, the balance being titanium and at most 3% of other elements is used as an implant for surgical or dental use. A preferred alloy contains 50% zirconium and 50% titanium. The other elements may be impurities or rigidityincreasing additions found in technical grade titanium, e.g. iron, nitrogen or oxygen. The alloy may be cold-worked to increase its strength after hot-working and annealing.
