Abstract

1428029 Case hardened alloy articles UGINE ACIERS 10 April 1973 [12 April 1972] 17176/73 Heading C7A Articles which have been case-hardened at 900-950‹C, quenched and tempered are made of an alloy comprising:- Cr with optional additions of one or more of Mo, V and W 0.3-3% in total Nz from 0.015% up to its solubility limit optionally Ni up to 5%, the balance apart from impurities, being Fe. Specified articles are gearing parts and ball, needle or roller bearings. An exemplary alloy contains minor amounts of Al, P & S is oil quenched from 850‹C and tempered at 160‹C.
