Abstract
1400339 Processing Pb-Ca alloys ST JOE MINERALS CORP 13 Dec 1973 [31 Jan 1973] 57745/73 Addition to 1338823 Heading C7A A lead alloy containing 0.02-0.1 wt per cent of Ca, and optionally 0.3-3% of Sn, which has aged after casting, is solution treated to redissolve Ca and then cold worked within a time limit determined by the composition. In the case of Sn - free alloys this limit is 8 hours, while for alloys with a Sn:Ca ratio in the range 5:1 to 10:1 it is 48 hours and when that ratio is in the range 10:1 to 150:1 it is 7 days. As exemplified solution treatment is carried out for 2 hours at 315C.
