1305158 Dry shavers SPERRY RAND CORP 7 Oct 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 46794/71 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver comprises a main cutter head 11 mounted in a casing 10 and an auxiliary trimmer unit 18 including a guard member 2] pivotally mounted on trunnions 29, 30 in the casing and having mounted thereon stationary and movable cutters 58 and 61 respectively, a handle 52 being secured to the trunnion 30 for moving the trimmer unit into and out of operative engagement with a drive means 70, 71 for the cutter 61. The trunnions 29, 30 are rotatable in bearing recesses 34, 35 and provided with projections 74, 75 and 77, 78 for engagement with corresponding grooves in 84, 85 and 80, 81 respectively in order to retain the trimmer unit in operative and inoperative position. Spring fingers 48, 49 on a plate 42 urge the trunnions in contact with the bearing recesses. The movable cutter 61 is urged into engagement with the stationary cutter by means of a spring 66.
