Abstract
1302158 Electric couplings JEUMONT SCHNEIDER 29 Oct 1971 [5 Nov 1970] 50445/71 Heading H2E A connector for joining a branch cable to a main cable comprises two spaced rings, formed of jointed sections 5, 6, which support connecting members 10-13, which are circumferentially adjustable into alignment with the cores of the main cable and have radial bores containing screws with ends shaped to penetrate the insulation of the cores. If one screw is to engage an uninsulated core, this screw may alternatively have a flat end. The cores of the branch cable may be inserted in transverse bores 17 and secured by other screws in the radial bores. Separators 20 are inserted between the main cable cores. To provide insulation the sections 5, 6 may be of insulating material. Alternatively the connecting members 10-13 may have insulating bodies which may have metal linings for the radial bores.
