Abstract

789,523. Cable couplings. BURNDY ENGINEERING CO., Inc. Feb. 7, 1956, No. 3726/56. Class 38 (1). A branch connection comprises an originally oval, E- shaped body 10 of soft metal, the outer arms 12, 13 of which are crimped round the main and branch cables 24, 25 to abut each other and the central portion 16 thereby forming a pair of circular seats 14, 15 which are separated from each other. The outer faces of the arms are formed with semicylindrical crimps 34, 35, the material from which is extruded round the cables. To accommodate a conductor of reduced diameter, a bushing may be located in either or both of the seats (Fig. 3, not shown). Specification 789,524 is referred to.
