Abstract

756,536. Sleeve couplings. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Inc. Dec. 21, 1954 [Dec. 31, 1953], No. 36902/54. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXII] Insulated wires 14, 15 are joined by inserting them in a composite sleeve 16 comprising a metal liner 17 and an insulating jacket 18, closed at one end, the sleeve then being deformed by a crimping tool to provide internally extending tangs 36 on the liner 17 which rupture the insulation of the wires and contact the conductors.
