Abstract
1301024 Molybdenum base alloys; powder metallurgy P R MALLORY & CO Inc 13 Jan 1970 [13 Jan 1969] 1602/70 Headings C7A and C7D Mo based alloys comprise 80-99% Mo together with at least two elements which will form a secondary alloy which when molten will dissolve an appreciable amount of Mo and comprising (in weight per cent based on the total weight of the alloy):- 1. B 0À01-4, the balance, apart from impurities, being one or more of Cr, Fe, Nb, Ta and V; 2. Mn 0À1-19, the balance, apart from impurities, being one or more of Co, Cu, Fe, Ni, Si, U and Zr; 3. Si 0À05-14, the balance, apart from impurities, being one or more of Co, Fe, Ni and V or 4. V 0À05-6, the balance, apart from impurities, being Mn. The alloys may be used for making dies, die casting dies and mould parts, and may be made by pressing a powder mixture (e.g. isostatically) and liquid phase sintering in vacuum or non oxidizing atmosphere.
