Abstract

1300506 Making porous films ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 21194/71 Heading B5B [Also in Division C3] A porous hydrophobic sheet of a fluorinecontaining polymer is made by electrolytically depositing particles of the polymer from suspension on to a carrier electrode, evaporating the suspension medium and then sintering the deposited layer. Examples describe the deposition of polytetrafluoroethylene from supension in carbon tetrachloride and in trichloroethylene and the formation of a porous layer by sintering at a temperature between 330‹ and 400‹ C. After formation the porous layer may be rolled and sintered again.
