1300127 Finishing edges H PROHASKA 12 Oct 1970 [11 Oct 1969] 48297/70 Heading B5K [Also in Divisions A5 and D1] A triangular bandage for example for use as a sling has two of its three edges provided with a layer of an adhesive or a strip of thermoplastic material in the region of the two edges thereof in order to prevent fraying. The bandage 10 may be produced by making cuts along lines 12 and 18 transversely and at 45 degrees respectively to the length of a web 20. The cut edges are then folded along lines 14 and 15, the layer (22), Fig. 3 (not shown), being interposed in the fold and serving to secure the folded over portion (19) to the main portion. The layer may be applied before or after the material is cut. The cut edges may be provided with a reinforcing strip of material and an adhesive strip may be folded over each cut edge.
