Abstract

1299367 Adhesive dressings EDWARD TAYLOR Ltd 2 Jan 1970 [6 Jan 1969 26 Aug 1969] 705/69 and 42388/69 Heading A5R A surgical adhesive dressing comprises a first adhesive coated strip 1 having a central aperture 2 and a second adhesive coated strip 10 having its central portion reduced in width, the dressing being assembled by passing part of the second strip 10 through the aperture 2 in the first strip 1. Strip 1 comprises two substrips 3 and 4 joined by bands 5 and 6 and strip 10 comprises two sub-strips 11 and 12 joined by bands 13 and 14. The dressing is assembled by passing sub-strip 12 through aperture 2 so that it is superimposed on substrip 4 and sub-strip 3 is superimposed on substrip 11. The aperture in the first strip may be rectangular, elliptical or rectangular with rounded ends the portions of reduced width in the second strip being correspondingly shaped. The central portions of both strips may be masked so that they are not adhesive and the adhesive portions may be covered with removable protective material, e.g. silicone coated paper or plastics material. Both the strips and the protective material may be colour coded so that the manner of application is readily apparent. Suitable material for the adhesive coated strips is plain weave plaster cloth, elastic cloth or thin sheet plastics material which may be transparent. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1217944.
