Abstract

1299895 Fuel injectors, spray carburetters PETROL INJECTION Ltd and H E JACKSON 13 Nov 1970 [2 Dec 1969] 58789/69 Heading F1B A fuel injection system includes a fuel injector having two valve members one of which has a fuel port 12, Fig.1 which co-operates with the other member to form a metering orifice having an area variable by relative movement of the valve members in response to variations in fuel pressure. A spring 15 urges the valve member head 10 against a spring-loaded diaphragm 5, the fuel port 12 being normally closed. Fuel supplied to the chamber 4 moves diaphragm 5 upwardly to allow valve member 8 to take up a new equilibrium position in which the fuel port area corresponds to the fuel pressure. The fuel injector may be operable with a fuel pressurizing device or in a fuel injection system as described in Specification 1254181.
