Abstract

1299507 Padlocks J PAIOLETTI 29 Oct 1970 51384/70 Heading E2A A padlock comprises a body 1 having two laterally opposed seatings 2, 3, an arm of a U-shaped shackle 5 being seated in one of said seatings and the other arm of said U- shaped shackle being adapted to be lodged in the other of said seatings, each of said arms having a recess 8 and locking bolts 9 in the padlock body being adapted to engage with each of the recesses and being disengageable from each of the recesses for the unfastening of the padlock with the aid of a barrel lock 6 and key 7; the recesses formed in the arms of the shackle are substantially L-shaped in profile, one limb of the L-shape being substantially arcuate in shape and curving away from the axis of the respective arm of the shackle in the direction away from the padlock body, the other limb of the L being inclined at an acute angle to the axis of the said arm away from the padlock body. The locking bolts are prismatic and of trapezoidal profile and each have lower faces which are parallel to the respective said other limbs of the recesses formed in the arms.
