Abstract

1282872 Locks BANHAM'S PATENT LOCKS Ltd 27 Aug 1969 [28 Aug 1968] 41085/68 Heading E2A A lock comprises a bolt 2 slidable in a channel member 4 enclosed by a cover 12 having a boss 20 supporting a key operated cylinder lock 22 with a rotatable end member 26 having two pins 28 engaging in two of four recesses 34, 36, 38 and 40 in a depression 30 in one side of the bolt. To withdraw or project the bolt from the member 4, the member 26 is rotated by the key, one pin moves the bolt as the other pin engages with the next adjacent recess to move the bolt, this continues until the member 26 has turned through one complete turn and the pins engage the two recesses at the opposite end of the depression from that in which they originally engaged. In modifications the member 26 has a single pin or a pinion which engages a rack on the bolt. Screws which secure the lock and pass through holes 42 in the member 6 are concealed within the lock housing.
