Abstract

1429055 Locking devices B M R SECURITY PRODUCTS CORP 3 Aug 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 37026/73 Heading E2A A locking assembly comprises a pair of strike plates 16, 18 having respective lugs 28, 30 formed thereon, locking means 20 Fig. 5 insertable into bores 34, 36 in the lugs when the bores are aligned in a pre-determined direction, and means for releasably engaging each lug with the strike plate of the other of the lugs when the bores are aligned aforesaid. The engaging means include first mating means 42 formed by each of the strike plates and interfacing second mating means 44 formed by the lugs of the other of the strike plates when the bores are aligned. As shown, the strike plates, secured to doors 12, 14 have interengaging teeth 42 and channels 44 which have, respectively, inclined faces 54, 48. The locking means 20 comprises a keyoperable cylinder lock 56 having a locking pin 58 engageable in either of a pair of recesses 66, 68 in the bores 34, 36; alternatively, there may be a single recess 68 and a slot 72 in the tubular element 62 and in which is engageable a screw 70 whereby upon retraction of the pin 58 of the locking means complete removal of the locking means is prevented. The strike plates and member 62 may be of hardened steel.
