Abstract
1297423 Transformers RACAL-MOBILCAL Ltd 7 May 1971 [12 May 1970] 22827/70 Heading HIT A transformer comprises a (torroidal ferrite) core 5, a conducting band 18 extending around the core and insulated from it by a P.T.F.E. liner 25, and insulating rings 6, 8 mounted on the core for supporting conductive washers 10, 12 which are arranged coaxially with the core and with two smaller conductive washers 40, 42 which are insulated from washers 28, 30 which are soldered to the washers 10, 12. The primary consists of a single layer of twenty parallel-connected centre-tapped windings, each having two bi-filar turns 14A, 14B. Turn 14A is soldered to washer 10, extends anticlockwise, as shown in Fig. 2, once around the core 5, is turned up around the lower edge of the band 18 and is soldered to it. Turn 14B is similarly arranged but has one end soldered to washer 12 and the other to band 18. Band 18 forms the centre-tap, and may have its ends extending radially to form a terminal (26) (Fig. 1, not shown). The secondary consists of four parallel connected windings 32 to (38), each with five turns of P.T.F.E. insulated wire, and each at its ends extending through apertures in washers 10, 28 or 12, 30 to connect with the smaller washers 40 or 42. Washers 40, 42 and members 28, 30 form the secondary and primary connections respectively.
