The divider elements comprise one or more pieces of fluted cardboard with the flutes vertical and folded to form a pattern of open channels for the articles, such as are defined by the walls 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. In different embodiments, an element may have two or as many as seven walls, and may be used together with single unfolded pieces. Such stiffened packages may be stacked.
