Abstract

1295394 Laminates GUSTAV SCHICKEDANZ [trading as VEREINIGTE PAPIER. WERKE SCHICKEDANZ & CO] 23 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 11138/71 Heading B5N [Also in Division D1] One or more layers of unconsolidated fleece comprising cotton or viscose rayon staple is/are preconsolidated by heating and pressure then immediately printed with dots of an aqueous dispersion of polyacrylate The fleece may contain some polyamide and/or polyester fibres, and is produced by carding or by air laying to give a random fleece. The preconsolidation is by rollers heated to 90‹ to 130‹C. or by heated platens, giving a pressure of 100- 200 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> for 0.5 to 5 seconds, and results in temporary hydrogen bonding through the expulsion of water. Example 3 involves two layers of carded viscose, Example 4, one layer of carded viscose and one of tissue, Example 5, a tissue layer sandwiched by carded fleece and Example 6 a carded viscose layer sandwiched by tissue. Fibre lengths and deniers, and fleece and binder densities are given.
