The notches m have inclined sides which force out the roller n and release the handle when the engine starts in either the forward or the reverse direction. The handle is then held out of engagement by a pawl or wedge k pivoted at j upon the plate d and held by a spring l in engagement with the grooved edge of a fixed disk c.
